Who We Are

Meet our Founder, President, and CEO
John Hipps, CEO

John Hipps founded HIPPS FINANCIAL PARTNERS, LLC to serve persons seeking assistance with their financial affairs, including senior citizens, those with disabilities, persons undergoing major life changes such as the death of a spouse or divorce, and persons who are too busy to handle their own day-to-day finances. The need for such services was made evident to John as his parents advanced in years, and he set about finding a solution that could meet the needs of his parents and others in similar situations.

John brings a great deal of work experience to HIPPS FINANCIAL PARTNERS, LLC, having worked as a trust administrator for a bank before attending graduate school, served 17 years as a financial analyst and manager of financial analysis for a Fortune 500 company, and devoted 12 years to the work of funds development in various positions on the staffs of Bridgewater College and the Church of the Brethren denomination.

Formal education in business and finance provide key theoretical background for financial management activities. Bridgewater College awarded John bachelor’s degrees with honors in both in both business administration and economics. He subsequently earned a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), with a concentration in finance, from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Serving customers in a professional, expert, and ethical manner is a non-negotiable tenet of HIPPS FINANCIAL PARTNERS, LLC. John is a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM) which provides opportunities for ongoing education. He fully embraces the AADMM Code of Ethics, which promotes high standards of client service.

John has served his community as a volunteer by working as a member of the board of trustees of a not-for-profit church camp, as a member and chair of his church’s board, and has also served his church as a deacon and chair of the stewardship committee. Additionally, he and HIPPS FINANCIAL PARTNERS, LLC are active members of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham (Virginia) Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Rockingham County, Virginia with his wife and their two children.
